NICKY DOWD

I’m a multidisciplinary artist and a bit of a polymath, led by curiosity, and belief that we can make anything happen. I work across design, community arts, music, film,TV and theatre, moving between mediums depending on the idea or the brief. I’ve worked behind and in front of the camera, made documentaries, designed and written for the stage, and created everything from murals with children to multisensory projects with older people, as well as community festival parades.

At the heart of it, I’m a storyteller and a problem solver. I love collaborating to figure out how to bring an idea to life in a way that empowers others.  Whatever the project, the process is playful, joyful, and full of energy. That’s what matters most to me, creating work with people of all ages and abilities that feels exciting, unexpected, and leaves everyone a little bit amazed at what we’ve made together. The most recent adventure - recording my first jazz ballad and music video with local award winning artists in Westport has been one of the most surprising yet!.
