Well, have just tasted this amazing ice cream at a friends so had to go home and try it for myself because guess what's in it?

Bananas ------- yep that's it- just Bananas.

Slice them, freeze them, whisk them in your food processor and that is it!

Of course you can add cream ,crystalized ginger, cardamom, vanilla ,pecans ,salted almonds whatever floats your boat

but honestly - it is delicious just as it is .

Gold Fest Sea themed Christmas table dec

Posted on 20 December, 2015 at 19:30 Comments comments (0)

Well, living by the sea I'm always collecting flotsam and jetsam but Christmas gives me the spray paint bug and just discovered how interesting seaweed looks when it's had the midas touch.

So that was it.Out came the old Oyster shells which I rubbed with a little "Gold Finger"  They have made lovely table place card holders. Then all my old candleabras which have been, White,Black, Silver are now Goldified. Just waiting for the mermaids and King Neptune to come home.

Simple,quick Christmas cards.

The Robin card is everyones favourite and so simple. Practice doing circles then modify a little ,relax and just let the pen flow, finger print his breast and do a sweep of pen for the branch. Pva glue and a sprinkling of glitter -done. I happened to have a star punch so clipped that in too but you could stick a silver star on. The Christmas tree again is simple and effective.I drew around a Christmas dec but there are so many tree shaped things around to copy or do you own then cut one side and fold out .Glue edge and card outline and sprinkle ... tadar! Wishing you all glitter in the trifles of life .

T'is the season of pesky candles

Almost as annoying as not being able to rotate a photograph grrr ......is trying to light a candle without singeing your finger tips .However try a strand of spaghetti to reach those awkward scented delights we love so much .

All happening at once

Today was one of those days when I went to put the washing in and started to reupholster a chair. Put a pair of earings away and discovered a couple of tarnished necklaces that I thought I could update .Gold is out and Rose Gold is in - so out came the copper car paint and that did the trick. All fired up, it was time to prep for the womans group Christmas Card morning on Wednesday .Frustrated Blue Peter presenter gene bounced around the kitchen and some new and old revamped card samples appeared .All very easy, cheap and quick to do.Once the samples are done you could print off them off and just add the paint and glitter to speed things.

Recycled Wreath

Posted on 3 December, 2015 at 15:35 Comments comments (0)

Look out for cheap basic wreath rings in Supermarkets.Lidlyl /Aldi/ Wilkinsons.I bought this last year in T K Max 4.99.

Why is it when you unpack the decorations you were sure you put away tidily last year they seem to have had a party in the cupboard.Lights don't work, transformers have gone walkabout and headless, threadless baubles abound  -do not despair -reach for the glue gun. If you haven't go one- ask Santa. You won't know what you did without one once you discover their quick fix ability for numerous situations!!!.glue gun on baubles and hang some on wires. Add a bow and rip the ivy off some strangled wall or tree, wind around and wire to nail on door.Tadarrrr.Have fun

Just watched RTE1 Local eye -the spotlight on Mayo News sharing a lovely encounter with Cowboy Jack, photographed by Westport's own Michael Mcgloughlin. It reminded me ot the engaging Documentary by Dave Allen in the 70's-If you haven't seen it and like me, are never happier than when listening to the harmless enthusiastic stories from- lets say characters with an alternative outlook on life. Sit back and marvel at the human spirit .
